Beginner Guide — First Days
One product line first
- Early cash is tight. Stock one main set / product line deeply instead of a thin spread across every box.
- Empty shelves on your “hero” product lose more sales than missing a niche SKU nobody asks for yet.
- Expand sideways only after that line restocks cleanly and bills are current.
Stock shelves, then sell
- Buy wholesale → put items on the correct shelf → set the price (never leave default unset).
- Customers can’t buy what isn’t on a shelf. Label shelves so restock workers (and you) put the right box in the right slot.
- See Pricing for market + markup habits.
Checkout yourself early
Until you hire a reliable cashier, ring sales yourself. Early workers are often slow or better used on restock — community consensus leans “restock first, serious checkout later.” Details: Workers guide.
Bills before speculative packs
Cash discipline
Pay rent/utilities and keep a buffer for wholesale restocks before cracking expensive boxes for your personal collection. Opening packs for fun is fine once the shop floats; early on, dead cash = empty shelves tomorrow.
- Track what sold today; restock winners, not wishlist pulls.
- If you open packs, sell duplicates you don’t need — don’t sit on dead inventory.
Daily rhythm (soft)
- Arrive before open; use the 8:00 AM freeze so staff can restock while the clock waits.
- Open the store when shelves look ready.
- Checkout + quick restock during the rush.
- Recheck market prices every couple of days (see Pricing).
- Close, pay bills, order wholesale for tomorrow.
