Restock at 8:00 AM — Freeze Time Trick

One of the most repeated community quality-of-life tricks. Confirm open hours in your build if patches change the clock.

The idea

Arrive (or wait) around 8:00 AM and do not open the store yet. While the shop stays closed, in-game time often stays frozen — but workers can still restock shelves.

Why it helps You get a free “prep window”: shelves fill, you label and organize, and you aren’t juggling a checkout queue at the same time.

How players usually run it

  1. Get to the shop before opening (community cites ~8:00 AM).
  2. Leave the store closed so the day clock doesn’t advance into rush hour.
  3. Assign or let workers restock while you fix shelf labels and layouts.
  4. Set / refresh prices (see Pricing) before you open.
  5. Open only when shelves look ready for the first wave of customers.

Label shelves

Workers don’t buy stock for you

Important Restock staff move inventory you already own onto shelves. They generally do not purchase wholesale for you. You still need to order / buy stock; the 8 AM window only helps placement and prep.

Community / fan tip Exact open times and whether time fully freezes can vary by version. If the clock advances while closed in your build, adapt — the goal is still “prep shelves before customers.”
